In 1993 OAO ”Gazmash” Balakirevo branch was set up on the basis of the production capacity of Balakirevo mechanical plant, one of the largest military-industrial complex enterprises, and is the leading manufacturer of components for domestic gas-using appliances in Russia and the CIS countries.
Realizing the importance of task to launch competitive gas components of high quality and in large numbers for domestic appliances at the beginning of the 1990s OAO ”Gazprom” took a decision to purchase equipment, technologies and know-how from a number of foreign companies: West-German Rapag AG firm complex manufacturing ignition gas taps and gas burners (nozzles or injectors) and Italian banks consortium “Tragaz” production of thermostatic single- and double stroke gas taps with flame failure gas cut-off device. Designs and production technologies were supplied by some European firms, such as Sabaf, Sit, Op, Ega and other world leading manufacturers of components. While in the process of starting a new production, the staff of OAO ”Gazmash” Balakirevo branch was taking industrial and practical training courses in the firm-suppliers of the equipment. The mass production was launched in 1995.
The main technological equipment of OAO ”Gazmash” Balakirevo branch is Rovetta automatic volumetrical hot-die-forging presses, Gildermeister, Pfiffner and Mikron high – productive metal-cutting lathes, Ateq controlling and measuring apparatus. Final assembly, testing and packing up of gas taps are carried out on Paro staff-free automatic production lines. Besides, there is a wide choice of Charmilles Technologies, Ewag and PeTeWe tool equipment available at the plant, including CAD/CAM/CAE automated designing systems to help launch new products at the earliest possible date.
Considering the market trends OAO ”Gazmash” Balakirevo branch quickly developed gas taps with automatic flame failure gas cut-off device for domestic gas cooker burners, made necessary arrangements to start manufacturing the new product which went into mass production in 2006. At the present moment OAO ”Gazmash” Balakirevo branch is the only manufacturer of such taps in Russia.
Production capacities make possible to provide domestic gas equipment manufacturers with attached components and materials in all the CIS countries. The main consumers of the product are Russian basic manufacturers of domestic gas and electric cookers, DHW boilers and heaters, including a number of the CIS enterprises. Currently,annual production of OAO ”Gazmash” Balakirevo branch amounts to millions of units, among which are:

OAO ”Gazmash” Balakirevo branch staff is successfully coping with the problems of getting into new sale markets and increasing the volume of production and some other problems, firmly retaining its leadership in the production of attached components and materials of high quality.
